June 23, 2025
LITTLE ROCK, AR —Arkansas Circuit Court Judge Shawn Johnson announced today his campaign for re-election to the 14th Division of the Sixth Judicial District, where he has served since 2021. Johnson, a longtime advocate for fairness and access to justice, has presided over domestic relations, probate, and civil cases and has overseen nearly 2,500 hearings and jury trials during his time on the bench.
“It has been the honor of my life to serve my local community and the people of Arkansas as an elected judge and to ensure our courts remain fair, accessible, and grounded in the rule of law,” said Judge Johnson. “I’m running for re-election to continue protecting the rights of Arkansans and upholding the constitutional principles that safeguard our freedoms.”
A seasoned attorney and public servant, Johnson began his legal career as a federal law clerk for U.S. District Judge Robert T. Dawson in Fort Smith. He went on to work in private practice at Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates & Woodyard, P.L.L.C., and later joined the Arkansas Attorney General’s Office under former Attorneys General Leslie Rutledge and Dustin McDaniel. There, he represented state agencies in court and served as a Senior Assistant Attorney General in the Public Protection Division.
“In every case, I strive to ensure that all parties are treated with respect and that justice is served without bias or delay,” Johnson said. “If re-elected, I will continue to bring fairness, transparency, and integrity to the bench.”
